Satya Brata Das full Biography

Satya is the co-founder and Principal of Cambridge Strategies Inc (CSI). He is an ideal Canadian navigator, particularly in the Province of Alberta. Satya's practice in Reconnaissance, Strategy, Diplomacy, Advocacy and Policy is based on more than 30 years of experience as an award winning editorialist, national commentator and public policy advisor. As an eminent opinion leader, Satya is a sought-after commentator on air, in print, and on panels and podiums in both of Canada's national languages. Satya's columns and op-ed articles have appeared in The Globe and Mail, La Presse, The Toronto Star; his on-air contributions on Public Broadcasting System and National Public Radio in the U.S.; and on all major networks in Canada.

Satya's first career in journalism spanned the last quarter of the 20th century, as reporter, administrator, editorialist, columnist and foreign correspondent with The Edmonton Journal and Southam (later CanWest) newspapers.

At CSI., Satya has advised at the most senior levels of private and public sector leadership, including Canada's Privy Council Office and Alberta's Executive Council.

He has helped Alberta to develop its immigration policy, international trade policy, value-added strategy, regional growth strategies, and appropriate public sector investment to support private investment in Alberta's oil sands, the world's largest hydrocarbon deposit. He has helped the forestry and petroleum industries earn their social license, through his pioneering work in mapping public values.

Satya's pro bono work focuses on inclusion, diversity, and community building, often viewed through the perspective of human dignity and social cohesion.

Satya is fluently trilingual in English, French and Oriya; and has a working knowledge of Hindi, Bangla, Spanish and Bahasa Indonesia.
