Ken Chapman
Ken Chapman is a lawyer, founder of Cambridge Strategies Inc., a consummate political animal, media commentator and dedicated blogger.
While many look at politics only as lobbying and elections, Ken sees it as the ultimate expression of citizenship. He appreciates the personal consequences that every aspect of our human interactions has a political dimension. He is a "resolutionary" and is particularly adept in facilitating complex relationships within and among organizations, stakeholders and special interests while increasing member engagement.
No stranger to conflicts, Ken revels in them and takes reconciliation of differences to an art form. He loves to finding and designing positive mutually beneficial outcomes from adversarial relationships. He has applied his skills in everything from forest conservation to inner-city community development. He has worked on finding policy solutions for family violence to securing supports for the developmentally disabled to getting smoking eliminated in the workplace and getting volunteers exempted from lobbyist legislation.
A new media evangelist and top-rated workshop and conference speaker, Ken combines his insights into public policy issues and politics to train and mentor others in social media best practices, how to propagate and populate social media networks and which platforms to use to reengage their audience.
Ken learned from his under-30 mentors the role and infinite outreach made possible by social networking and since beginning his foray into the blogging four years ago, Ken now has 200 000 readers and over 2,000 followers on Twitter.
Ken's volunteer life is that of an uber-citizen community servant. He feeds his passions for all things creative in the arts, culture, consciousness, education and social justice concerns. In 2004 Ken was awarded the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal for his "...contributions to Canada, to community...and to fellow Canadians" and has just been named one of Alberta's Most Influential People.
